I just bought an 04 625 SMC. I have questions.......

1. Exhaust says KTM Competition. Is this the standard exhaust or a KTM upgrade? Bike has been rejetted (found used bits in the parts box), wondering why if the exhaust is standard.

2. Counter sprocket changed to a 15. Rear standard. Is this a good mod?

3. I see 2 oil filters. What's the story? The syringe looks fun by the way.

4. I have Scorpion Sync's. What are the best pressures to run for spirited street riding.

5. No idea how to set up suspension on a motard. Can someone give me a baseline for 200lbs?

Ok, I'm getting carried away. I have loads more questions but will have to slow down as not to get on everyone's .

Cheers,

Might I suggest http://www.supermotojunkie.com/index.php ? That's not meant in an asslike manner. I have a KTM450SMR and although I know about that bike, I do not know specifics on your model.

For suspension and other stuff, go see Andy at

http://metricmotorcycles.com/index.asp

Or Patrick at

http://www.motorcycles-unlimited.com/index.htm

Both are very good guys. Andy has worked on my SMR and other bikes, and I know Patrick is working on my old KTM620 that I crashed after a friend (that bought it from me) let me ride it . He is really getting into the suspension and I am sure it will be solid when done.

Welcome to the family of 'tards. It's a good place to be.

Various Equipment for various uses.
Dirt, Street, Track, Dual Sport, I like em all.

Most all the KTMs need rejetting out of the box, so dont be surprised that it is rejetted and might not have an aftermarket pipe on it. They come leaned out from the factory for EPA standards.
2 oil filters is kinda normal on KTMs or at least the RFC motors or whatever they are called. Thats all I can help ya with, and that might not even be help.
