Thi time I was glad I had a crash on my bike.

It has been about 2 months since I crashed my f41. I went down going only about 15 or 20. Bike had about 100 bucks of damage, nothing major at all.

Before I crashed, I was having bad sciatic nerve problems. Doctor after doctor, acupuncture, massage therapy, everything and thousands of dollars and lots of suffering. I could not go half a day without pain pills. I had to carry a bottle with me everywhere I went and every night about 2 or 3 AM the pain would wake me up and I was up for a few hours if I went back to sleep at all. And this was EVERY night. This went on for a few years and It SUCKED.

For anyone that has never had sciatic nerve pain, it feels like a really bad tooth ache in your hip shooting all the way down your calf. It is BAD and intense.

ANYWAY, I have a crash, my leg gets bent backward and I hear and feel my hip pop out of socket and back in. I was in pain in bed all day. Next morning it felt warm but no pain. It actually felt good.

Well, I have not taken one pain pill since and I almost forget I even had those problems. What ever was wrong with my sciatic nerve, the crash fixed it. All that money spent, all the suffering, sleepless nights gone.

Funny how bad things are a blessing in disguise and how much you type up when you are bored.

I know exactly how you feel. I had the same issue from the time I was 21 to about 27-28. It was the worst pain in my life. There were some days I could not even sit up to get out of bed. Every Dr. I went to just prescribed pain meds but never did anything to fix the problem. I finally went to a chiropractor. It took him two weeks but he fixed me. I'm 38 now so I have gone 10 years without the issue.

I never did go to the hospital. I actually felt good the next day. The actual day I went through some of the worst pain of my life. My hip hurt so bad for a good 8 hours. And I mean BAD and the intensity didnt subside at all. But when it stopped, it was great.

I never did. I had x-rays and all kinds of other and was tired of spending money.

I was going to a Chinese massage guy. He actually was doing a lot to help me out.

Its hard to expliaing the pain to people until they go through it themselves. It pretty much puts a wrench into the gears that is your life. I can take pain, but , sciatic pain is like no other.

Sucked at the track cause I couldnt come close to putting my left knee down except for that turn 9 lowside.

huh. sounds like the pain im having. back of the hip, on the left side?
like a lot of pressure on that spot? feels like it needs to pop really bad?

it was hurting me so bad a few weeks ago that i was sweating all day at work. i couldnt get any relief from pain relievers and coulnt find a comfortable way to sit or stand. just sucked all day.

glad to hear there is a way to fix it. last week one of my co workers suggested that my pain might be the sciatic nerve. until then i had never even heard of this
now i just need to wreck my sv

The only pain killer that really worked for me were the Tylenol for arthritis.

The pain may start from one side of the lower back and radiate all the way down the calf and even on the side of the knee. Pretty brutal.

What happens is that the muscles in the hip, at least in my case, become atrophied from not being stretched and used as much as they should and they shorten. When they do that, they become real tense and knotty and one or more of the muscles will press on the nerve and maintain pressure on it causing the radiating pain. It really your whole life up.

I remember when I got the pain and it would become aggravated it would hurt so bad that I had to sit where ever I was and not move an inch for hours sometimes. Any movement, even my arms, would cause my hip to move and cause pain best compared to a hot ice pick being driven into my hip bone that would make me pale shake, turn pale and sweat my off. I still get chills remembering it.

I had that pain down either or both legs. It would buckle my legs when it happened. 3 fused vertebrae later, and all is well. Glad you didnt need surgery!
