checked a car and rode away

so as every one says its only a matter of time.
i was goin to meet up with some friends to ride on saterday. On my way to his house someone was riding my so i went inbetween the cars which ive done may times but dont advise it. well i went inbeteen and cliped the cars tail light with my front brake then my forarm. i did a endo then wobbled rry bad but didnt go down. after that i rode a lil then pulled over. the front brake had smashed all my fingers and my arm was thought to be broken, it wasnt just badly brusied from hocky checking a car. lol but now the problem is my bike wont rev past 3k. the only damage is to the front fairing and my brake is locked up. what would cause it to only rev to 3k then die?? with that said iam pulling it appart and will be painting it. i just hope i can figure out why its being difficult
thanks! and be safe out there ive rode since i was a little kid on dirtbikes, i was just being careless with other things on my mind when it happend. i got a ticket for failure to control speed resulting in a colition. and he said they may do a hit and run bc i didnt stop right after. would the hit n run hold up bc the cop shoulda taken me to jail right there right? i was thinkin it wont hold up in court??

thanks for reading sry if it dosnt make much sence i work nights and am tiiiiiireeed.
thanks!

So wait let me get this. You just openly admitted to hitting a car and not stopping on the world wide interwebs, and wonder if it will hold up in court for a hit and run? makes me LOL

like the people i see on cop. They run and then when they finally get caught they ask them why they ran, and they say, " i got scared"

im with doc on this one. it may "limit" the throttle to 3k if its damaged, but it wont cause it to "die"

Just a thought fast idle may be jacked up too then the bike would run real rich and choke out (too much fuel) causing it to die if you revved it, and +1 for a damage throttle linkage if u beat up the bars.

I was body checked by a car about 4 yrs ago and got bust up pretty bad, fortunately the car driver admitted fault, still hurt though, the funnist thing was she offered me a lift to the hospital! I'm like "noooooo I think I'll wait for the ambulance"

im not commenting on splitting cars or if/not/whatever running.

Do you have full turn of the throttle from the control drum? Or does it stop?

...if you dont: your cable may be pinched or the tunnel is messed up.

...if you do: continue looking into the bike.

Right side damaged? Check the TPS sensor under the fairing that was damaged, make sure its ok.

Check the pump.

Is it surging at 3k or it simply wont accelerate further? Popping? Intake/Exhaust?

Easiest way to check control is to watch the throttle butterflies by turning the throttle and making sure you have full range of motion.

If you hit that hard, its likely the forks need to be straightened in relation to the triples by loosening and tweeking the upper and lower together.

Hope you're doing ok; hands and arms arent easily replaceable.

Oh and you're on a carbed bike...

Maybe something in the carbs were jolted. Make sure all the clamps are good and no leaks are present that would cause the carbs to not compensate.
