Don't post anything negative about Buell, you'll get someone all spun up.

No, once a season in a trackday motor. I only mentioned his racing as a way of saying he has some knowledge on which to base his decision.

But thank you for your contribution.

That's what he does now, on his '05 CBR600RR, trackday bike. Seems to be working fine.
His racing days were long ago and I'm sure they changed oil much more often then.

Think about though, if you did 10 TD's/year at 150/day that's only 1500 miles. That's not that much abuse for modern oil and engines.
We think we are straining the motors in our bikes when we do TD's but they are designed for that kinda use and most of us aint riding as hard as we like to imagine.

It was the "thank you for your contribution" remark, of course.

^With all of the proved and sound information you have provided, you've got me sold. Amsoil is going in my 'tard next round. Especially at 1.4 quarts of oil my WRX takes, it shouldn't be as expensive these SS guys will pay.

I never met or acquainted with you, but thank you!

Just to clarify, I was not advocating to those who are new to the track, that they should change their oil only once per season. I was just sharing the experience of a friend who has done this with no problems.
In spite of my gut feeling this practice might be OK, I agree that more frequent oil changes are fairly cheap insurance. The cost of changing our oil is not what keeps us from doing more TD's.
