help me figure out bike problem

2004 gsxr 750. the far left header gets to 700 degrees. the rest stay at 300 degrees. it gets to where it is glowing red. what can be the problem?

+1... Means theres a weak mixture in the glowing header. If you run it like that you have a high risk of burning the valve heads. Take it in to a service dept.

Ignition timing/mechanical timing could be an issue too (sensor bad or slipped timing chain)

What's the mileage, have you had any major service recently or lack there of?(valve adjustment.)

And what are you measuring the header pipe with? target thermometer?

It can be caused also by running that cylinder rich, it won't burn all the fuel in the chamber, instead some of it burns in the header and gets so hot it glows red/

Interesting; Ive seen lean cause heat but not rich. I guess if it lites off maybe, but that's alot of air flow even at idle.

Yep,I've seen manifold mounted cats glow red because of rich mixture.Z

Also, last week we had an 89 camaro, 15 minutes running at idle would make both manifolds red. It was interesting because it wasn't lean, but the total opposite.

Lean mix or timing too advanced. most likely clogged injector. Metric bikes will sonic clean em pretty cheap if remove the injectors and bring em too em. Did all four of mine on my gixxer grand for $25.
