Nice thing about the pagers are whenever we are out anywhere they have a great range. They vibrate and make noise.

Mine will go off w strong winds(35mph gusts) Other then that, no false alarms. Removing the cover will set mine off as well as lightly putting a riding jacket on the seat at Yankees(sorry guys )

FYI in Texas you dont have to have full "comprehensive" coverage to have theft insurance on your bike. On some of my bikes I only had minimum liability and theft coverage; the cost is not outrageous either.

I hate theives just as much as the next guy, but if your leaving you bike outside anyhere in this city there is a chance someone will take it. Now if you care for that bike that much that you would walk away from, at least buy INSURANCE that covers the bike..... Then we would have so many people , and insurance in turn would go look for the bike instead of putting the owner on the hook for note.

Just saying

Thats the easiest way to check for lojack.

Remember its to low names that do the stealing... they are a dime a dozen. But if we make their job more difficult it puts strain on everything.
I imagine they would have to worry about the cops setting a sting to pick it up, also if these guys are tearing bikes done to pieces within a couple of hours I doubt lojack would perfect, realistically I say full coverage insurance period. Now I am referring to pro's.

On Speed TV, there's a show called, "Jacked." Police deliberately place vehicles in locations for theives to steal and they catch them in the act.

Perhaps, a petition could be signed in the Houston-area, begging the police to bait a few bikes in the area to curb the crime. If word got out, perhaps, thieves would think twice before attempting to steal a bike.

Though a good idea, thieves will be replaced by other thieves. Just like the show "Bait Car", they do the same thing. They arrest them, set the vehicle up again, and within minutes another jackass thief jumps into it. Thing is most have a feeling it's a set up but still take it. They have no morals or guilt about taking someone's property.

The only way to really combat this is public punishments like cutting hands off or just public beatings. Yes, I know. "We're a civilized country". I think being too civilized has ruined our country. Now that might make a thief think twice. I'm just saying.......
