Check your master link....
Especially if you use a clip one...
Cleaning and lubing my chain today at work for a extended ride home...
The master links I always dry and put a dab of orange silicone on the clip so I can find it and see it when I am cleaning it....
Silicone was there... clip was missing!
I've installed hundreds of chains in my life and this is the first I have had a clip fail/go missing.
Have no idea how long it's been missing, clean and lube once a month so it could have been a month/ couple thousand miles.
Go check yours!

oh m gee
I will not allow myself the weakness to lay aside responsibility of my actions to a higher power and write that weakness off as destiny. Vigilance, intelligence and discipline keep us alive out there.
Rest In Peace Chris Owens aka faster321, you will be missed...
