THAT guy....

Ever meet THAT guy? or maybe you're him/her....

Bobby(otra599) and myself were chilling one night at Rookies after duci22 and his wife left.

Never fails, some guy comes up an asks if we ride(note helmet on table) then "whatcha ride."

I said I had a 250 outside. Then it comes... "ya I got a (spelled out) GSXR 750, I drag knee on it, wear my full one piece but I also got a two piece whenever I ride."

Bobby: "You sound like our type of rider. Come ride with us sometime, we're always out."

Guy: "Ya I like to drag knees. I ride up in college station all the time at the track."

Me: "Really? TWS (Texas World Speedway)? With what organization?"

Guy: "What?"

Me, slow and direct words "Which or-gan-i-zation do you ride with?"

Guy: "Um... man I dont remember."

I look away.... Bobby laughs but keeps talking to him.

Guy: "How you liking to 250? You think you'll get a bigger bike?"

Me: "I have four."

Bobby: "You should see him at the track. He's got a busa he's raised and he still drags the timing covers on the track."

I pull out my phone and start searching for a pic. About 3 minutes go by and I show it to him. His smile drops and he says "that's pretty low."

He got real quiet real quick. I offered him to ride w me Saturday, and again w the group on Sunday. Said we'd love for him to come visit motohouston and ride with us regularly.

apparently something that needed his urgent attention was happening back at his friends.

Gosh I love being sober at bars.

^^^that's always a good arguement.

Bobby and I both wanted to ask him which brand his 1 and 2 piece suits were but he bolted before we could.

Out of the small list of trackday organizations for bikes in Houston, I figured he could imagine one of them... but he was so clueless.... bobby had a hard time from not laughing off the stool when I spoke to him like a child. You could see he was looking for an out from that point on.

Poor guy I hope he joins MH. Maybe he can get some "words of wisdom" and become a better and safer rider.

hahaha, i ran into a "pro motocross racer" before at a bar one time. He was wearing a spy hat with an alpinestar shirt. I asked what team he rode for. He said it was his own team but never gave me a name. Ok, i'll go with that. Next i asked him what class he rode (125 or 250 class) and he responds, " I race in the 2-stroke expert class"...

I said "cheers" and walked off laughing.

Whenever I see a fellow rider out at a bar or restaurant, I'll give them a head nod and leave it at that. But when I'm with my older sis who's been doing the houston bar scene for over 15 yrs, she usually knows them anyways from somewhere, so we end up talking.

same kinda people come to the lot..'hey whats up man you guys stunt?"

ya we do sportbike freestyle

"ya man i stunt on my friends g-s-x-r 1000 man..i ride wheelies on the freeway for miles....i keep it on the streets, it's much harder then in a parking lot"

then usually we bust some circles and they leave jaw dropped.
