Well I am waiting to see what my family is doing.
As they are tossing up the ideas of vegas, grand canyon and some other things.

I just saw this thread. I have family with 10 acres in Bandera... I also have a friend with 32 acres on the Medina River just south of Bandera. Thats where I grew up. If you're really down, we could camp at my friends river spot, or sleep on my grandmas floor. Grandmas means home cookin. Oh yea locals in that town are fun.

Doesn't matter if you ride or tow there; there are plenty of areas with no cell coverage to it's not the best place to show off. Especially if you've never been there before. Keep it real and you'll be fine.

Knowing you have a trailer seems to ratchet it up a bit, and those are the only times I've seen problems. When we rode up there it was in the back of everyones mind and kept the reality in check for most.

I'm down to ride in the hill country anytime. It is a little out of the way to get to the three sisters from Austin though. You may want to think about a smaller town closer to the back roads.

Koyote Ranch, just south of K-ville is by far the best place I've stayed for a sistas run. They have camp sites for those goofballs who don't care that the night temps can hover around freezing until mid April, as well as cabins. The "camping" cabins are in close proximity to the bath house (if you choose that option, I recommend the cabins at the top of the hill - those showers have better water pressure). There are also cabins that can accomodate several people, but consider the sleeping options. One of the cabins is described as sleeping 6, but that is a futon, a full bed and 2 cot sized beds in a loft - so it depends on how cozy you want to get with the people you're sharing a cabin with. When splitting the cost, they are a better deal than most of the hotels and I felt more comfortable about the security of my bike out there.
