Third branch.... the main road up and then back down to the Danville side has a third road but its a dead end at the top and rangers can easily corner you if you're practicing or racing.

I am off that week. I may try to head out that way for a day or two as well.

I usually stay in Bandera, but have also stayed in Kerrville or Leakey. All three have pros and cons, but Leakey is probably the best for riding. Kerrville and Bandera for the same plus some spots to have a drink after riding, not to mention better food choices.

Keep in mind, unless you're planning a trailer etc:

1) Im riding so I know I can get back

2) I have an air cooled bike and tire patch kits... so Im not too concerned about break downs... make sure you prep your bike accordingly.

3) Not my first Austin trip, I recommend everyone learn to hydrate, bring all the eccentials or consider bringing a vehicle if you're not sure how to do long trips w just a backpack full of stuff.
