Another Buell Jewel...

"Buell Motorcycle Company has issued a recall for its 2010 model year XB12X and XB12XT due to a potential manufacturing error on the righthand side footpeg. The recall affects approximately 23 motorcycles manufactured between August 20 - September 30, 2009.

The report released by the NHTSA states: "The right hand side footpeg mount may have been manufactured to incorrect specifications. This condition could allow the footpeg to move significantly out of position, which could lead to loss of control of the vehicle resulting in injury or death of the rider."

The recall begins December 14, 2009 and owners may contact Buell Distribution Company at 1-414-343-8400 for more information. Buell owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov."

23 bikes? Definitely a very small recall.

the main point isn't the number... it's the problem "This condition could allow the footpeg to move significantly out of position, which could lead to loss of control of the vehicle resulting in injury or death of the rider."

Really? Remember, just about EVERY car/bike company has had some sort of major recall in the last 20 years.

We have quite the contingent of Buell riders. One mildly colored comment and they come out of the woodwork. Ba ha ha ha.

Same as HD riders...

they feel the need to defend their choice in bike aggressively...

...almost like they refuse to acknowledge it was a bad investment...

I kid, I kid.
