Racing also makes you faster. Look at some of the Prov Novs that raced at TWS (Texas World Speedway). I know of some that ran there fastest times, dropping 5 secs or more!

You get faster chasing people to get a higher place. Why don't you get a Race License?

A couple of years ago I had gotten mine bc of OakHill w/o the intention of racing. I'm hoping to get one this year (if I ever land a job) just to run a couple of races for kicks. Had last year not turned out the way it did for me(loss of JOB) I would of probably raced with my boys but I have no illusion of being competitive nor do I care do be. I realize I'm an old man compared to these young bucks and (I) will never go pro, only hurt myself if I try to become to competitive. Will it make me faster? yeah probably but at what cost? I enjoy riding at the track having fun with my friends. Call me boring or what not I just like to ride. +the money factor even if had some makes racing prohibitive as I could go take a few hellified trips with all that money.

I hope all the peeps that are getting their licenses make the best out of their time at the track, do well, and stay in one piece.

GL to all of you.

I wanted my license so I could do Oak Hill and do a race or two this season.

....... but for now, I cant dish out $1000 a race weekend and I'm guessing my chance to ride Oak Hill has passed.

I have some friends that are racing TMGP..... 1/4 of the cost and I'm thinking I will have ALMOST as much fun...... That's what it is all abouit anyways..... The FUN factor.

I'll just be a mini-poser this year. Maybe next year I can afford to be a full size poser.

Wait a tic...

So in Cdill's terms, only the people that are fortunate enough to afford to race, are the ones who aren't posers?

What a crock of mookie stink

more less, yup.

It's OK. I am not saying I am not a poser. We are all "posers" compared to the guy on the next level. Compared to top CMRA experts, I am a poser. And the upper CMRA guys are posers compared to the guys winning in the AMA. And those guys are posers to the WSBK guys and those guys are posers to the MotoGP guys.

My post was more around the audacity it takes for someone who rides a sport bike, putting around the streets, to make fun of someone that just got their race license by calling them a poser.

That would be like the pp1 crowd calling YOU a poser Will. How would that make you feel?

Sport bikes are meant to be rode hard, fast and cranked over. They are race ready off the showroom floor. If you aint riding it like it was meant to be rode, then you are a poser.

If you aint riding it the way it was meant to be, buy a fkn cruiser or, at minimum, leave the ones that are TRYING to ride them they way they were meant to be rode, alone.

and BTW Will...

You play that "less fortunate" card with your 2007 R1, with power commander, full yosh, race body work and frequent track day rider. I aint buying it.

You can race if you want to.

some validity...however you have to be glad these "posers" are here since they enable you/us to buy wrecked 09 bikes for cheap and track them out

3 My thoughts on TD are that I loved them now and dont ride the streets like I did 1 year ago..

Since you put it that way, I get what you're saying. Its all relative though to who's eyes you are looking through.

Now back to your comment about my income, its taken me three years to get my bike where it is now, not all at once type of deal like in racing.

I didn't say I was less fortunate, just not daddy big bucks at all.
