In order to get your Race License you do actually have to RACE.

1. Complete a CMRA Approved Racing School Class
2. Corner Work on a Saturday and a Sunday.
3. 2 Sprints at 2 different Race Weekends without Crashing.
If you do not complete these requirements within 1 yr, you have to start all over again.

With that said let me explain my situation and my thinking about this.

Racing is extremely expensive and even more expensive if you are trying to be competative. I have already decided that this year I am just going to do the necessary requirements of getting my Novice License and then decide whether I want to invest on being competative next year. I will be Racing at the next 2 TWS (Texas World Speedway) events and hopefully completing my requirements for Novice License.

If anyone else is thinking the same way I am thinking, you wont see too many Prov Novs racing at every single race.

I think the original question is a subquestion of this: what is the point of motorcycling? The obvious answer to about 90% of this board is that there is none. We do it because we like it, and fvck-all beyond that. So if some people like spending money on a race license they'll never use................fine, its their money. Luckily, we're still allowed to do whatever we want with the small chunk of change the government lets us keep in this country.

but I got my race license because I was bored with trackdays and wanted to race, and getting a license was the only way to do that...

If you were not trying to stir the pot, then what was the point of this thread?
