I use regular at what ever staion im near when i need gas. I have been getting it from Krogers lately as i get 10 cent discount per gallon. The only differance i ever notice is when they swap from winter to summer blend my gas mileage seems to go down a bit.

As a rule though, any of the Majors. Krogers/HEB etc are NOT majors they are just using generic additive in the smallest amount possible and the BIGGEST difference in gasoline is the additive.

Well if you believe the web rumors on where gas comes from...

I use Chevron or Valero when I can, used to love Shell but when they changed from pink to clear on the Premium I noticed more deposits, less performance and lower mileage. Not to mention on average Shell is 3-5 cents more per gallon in my local.

My car runs fine on Kroeger, the truck don't like it all so I gave up trying.

true.

all the gas comes from the same place (for the most part), the HUGE difference in what you get is the additive package (or lack thereof) and how well the pumps/tanks are maintained.

in a low comp car, kroger/heb/walmart/etc is probably going to run fine BUT just remember what kind of chit you are feeding into your motor.

remember the old saying "put good in, get good out"

I quit using shell after I had to sue one of their "Stations (University Shell) by UofH"

All I wanted was my money $20 back for the gasoline since it had water in it.

they told me to **** off (the station owners)

come to find out, they don't even get their gas from Royan Dutch Shell. They buy it from some other place, I think it was Mission Petroleum. Also ironic cause I found gas around Mission Texas.

ANyway, I even tried contacting Corporate, they did an 'investigation" and siad no one else reported an issue and told me to **** off.

Anyway, I use one Exxon, because the refill truck has Exxon junk all over it, so I am hoping to get Exxon gas.

Bottom line is that most stations are kind of "Individually owned" and buy their gas from whoever, fuick the commercials on TV it's a 90% lie.

Well, I won in small claims, over $800. Idiots.

The "Professional Service whatever" could not tell me or the jury what would happen if I put equal ampunts of gasoline and water in a glass.

I asked him if he ever tried Itallian Dressing

You told this story last time, Mission Petroleum is just a common carrier that HAUL gas for a lot of companies. Most of the majors use carriers and don't have they're own trucks or drivers. Proceed, it's your story, but your misinformed.

Misinformed about what? I got a letter somewhere from Shell stating that the station was individualy owned, they are not responsible and it wasn't their gas.

Are you saying if I go to a shell station I am going to get gasoline produced by Shell with Shell brand additives? Cause if so, BS. Same with the other brands.

Bad idea. Diesel is ~25 octane. No, really.

There's no such thing as winter or summer blends for gasoline in Houston. Where people get these ideas from is anybody's guess. Yes, in cold states there are winter and summer blends of DIESEL. The winter blend of diesel has more kerosene in it to lower the gelling point. Gasoline doesn't gel, and thus doesn't need a winter blend. In some states (namely Colorado) they do switch from non-ethanol to ethanol fuel in the winter to decrease smog............but Texas has no such laws.
