Gas Mileage, whats urine?

mine is just totally freaky.
heres the .
when new, all leaned out from the factory with quiet pipes and closed air cleaner, no rejet, it got average 44 MPG

when I did the open pipes, stage one carb rejet and high flow air cleaner, I got 32 mpg average

with the turbo install on stock motor I got 28 MPG average.

now that I have humongo sized pistons, more compression, cams with lobes equal to yo grandpas earlobes and a huge Mikuni 42 carb, open pipes, head porting and polishing I am getting 45.2 MPG (just put 2.3 gallons and odo said 104 miles) WTF! I dunno how, maybe because it makes more power with less effort and moves the mass easier? I think if I rode it right I could get 50 MPG ! and with these mods, that just seems unreal.:icon_rabb

If I just cruise between home and work the Busa will get right at 45 mpg, all stock with just bolt ons. If I take it out to play on weekends................30-35.

Your rig's not having to work as hard with the bigger pistons? Where's your peak torque happening now?

nope, its in a bucket. the whole kit is dissasembled and stored in a bucket on a shelf. , the new motor runs so good, I cant imagine how its gonna be with the turbo. Just might do a NX kit for a while, dunno. might not do nuthin' but convert to chain drive first then adds the big powa' later

well, it feels like it hauls all the way through the rpm range, but when it gets to 4.5k it acts like it stole some of DJ's steroids and pulls like a freight train till I let off. Amazing difference when it hits those rpm's pulls like crazy.
I've only taken it to 7k twice (S.E. Ignition limit) and when I re-install the digital ignition, I'll set the limit to 7.5k and be happy.
Can definately tell the major power band with the high lift cams is in the 4.5k up

You're probably cruising at peak torque. You need to goes and dyno it again.
