trouble trouble!!!!!

so i have asked this question before, but is it really bad to ride with a gummed up carb? i talked to tx yamaha south today and they said it could blow a valve or burn up spark plugs. and it is ver unsafe to ride. is that just a money pitch or is it truth. please let me know what yall think because it will decide if i purchase the bike or not. i cant afford $550.00 worht of added work upon purchase. i would rather wait and buy something that doesnt need work when i buy it.

Could be, you could try Seafoam but nothing beats a good cleaning. And $550 is a whole lot for a carb cleaning.

Kind of a silly question, but ive been know to be not so smart in the past lol. A dirty carb shouldnt be that big of a deal to straighten up. But i wouldnt plan on riding it like that for one thing it wont be any fun and im sure that cylynder will run lean.

Have you tried contacting one of the local sponsors to see what they would charge?

Junked up/bad running carbs can be a catalyst for other problems.

I say wait and buy something in better shape if you can't afford it.
