rent a full leather race suit? drag racing

im drag racing my zx6 next weekend and need to know a few things, i heard you can rent full leather suits, if so where at and how much? i live in conroe so hopefully something close for that. aso do i need to wear special bike boots or can i just wear regular boots? and any other pointers would be great, or maybe a few things to make sure of so i will pass tech inspection?

You don't need full leathers for the drag strip, unless you go in the 9's or over 120

HMP and Sealy don't even require that AFAIK.. Baytown is the only stickler.

You do need over the ankle boots.

Remember u need a deadman switch too.. just get some stick on Velcro and a key chain to ur kill switch.. or you can get creative..

When you going? I just picked up a suit myself.. That was the only thing stopping me from going...

We hit HRP pretty much every Fri. Your not gonna rent a suit at a straight track.

How many runs on average on Fri nights? They still run an instant green on Sundays?

your choice on the lights. Usually 8-10. Depends on oil downs.

Need to get ya a Busa with a turbo for the strip...

If the leather pants I got fit ok I may show up at the track sometime this year... I figure once every 20 years or so is a good schedule... The 12R is just the thing for a "track weapon", right? I'll put some stickies on the spare rims for that...

Both are fun, but the 1/8th seems cluttered/under-managed.. Something about beer bottles falling out of a racers truck as he is going down the track really turned me off about that place.. Guys at the track didnt even see it.. I was yelling out trying to get them to notice

I've heard poor reviews on HMP.. I would rather go to Sealy or Baytown.. seems like most of the good ol' boys that used to run at the Nasty are at HMP now.

Sealy is just NEVER open.. Prob 5 times a year at most.. Gotta plan for that.. Baytown is wayyyy far but nice track/facility just they get bitchy if you arent up to spec completely
