New Mechanic

So I need a good mechanic. Zx14 is acting up. Was riding on the freeway, down shifted to get some speed and motor turns off. All electronics still good. bike still shift into all gears and neutral

After towing bike back to house. I was too tired to do some extensive troubleshoot because it was like 3 in the morning.

I did remove all plastics and inspected. no oil leaks, I took out the spark plugs and there was no spark. full pump comes but bike will not turn over.

I just replaced the spark plugs 4 months ago they still pretty good.
I did my last oil change last week.

the electronics make the starting sound but the bike doesn't even turn over.
When pushing the bike turned off it sounds like the motor is making a whining sound. Im gonna check the cam chain. I hope my motor isn't gone.

Does anyone know how much a diagnostic is and where?

Does anyone know how much a zx14 motor is?

How much is it to rebuild motor( probably upgrade performance too)?

in the meantime Im just gonna go buy me that Road star Yamaha 1600. It should relax me for a while until I can get the 14 fixed

or any other crank lock in the system.

I think there is a zx14 problem w cranking that one of our friends on here(jeff) has constantly.

Do you know what prevents a bike from going into too low of a gear. Because I was able to cycle down to first gear at high speeds this is when this whole thing happened. I was rolling and bike motor turned off. I held the clutch in and was able to shift all the way to first at high speeds. I didn't disengage the clutch i just held it in and shifted through gears becaiuse i thought my clutch was gone.

just took off cover to clutch. clutch is good.

FYI its often cheaper to replace a motor with a good used one rather than rebuilding. definatly worth looking into if its needed. i hope you dont need either, keep your fingers crossed.

If the engine won't turn over with the plugs out and the starter is getting power you have something mechanically stopping it from doing so. On ZX14's common failures are;
CCT let go causing valves to hit the pistons, clutch basket gave out and a piece is stuck in the primary gear, rod bearing frozen on to crank.

I have a brand new clutch basket that I just put on 2 months ago. I havent drag raced it at all.
