That bracket is reinforcement for the fender.... look on that side crankcase underneath for some broken head bolts or under the bike entirely to see if you have some hardware there.

as for the leak; you may have squashed what looks like the thermostat housing. That's why its leaking, the housing spout isnt circular in shape and the hose clamp cant mate the hose to it when its ovaled out.

I hope Motorcycles Unlimited can fix 'er up for ya tomorrow!

(I should be in there at lunch for some jets for the Hyo.)

Parts and availability if replacing may require a wait. Motorcycles Unlimited does top-notch work.

Coolant will need to be drained/refilled since it is on the lower side of the cooling system.

The problem w aluminium is it can only bend so many times before getting fragile and cracking/splitting. Is it plastic, metal or aluminium?

Glad to hear your ok man, My buddy looped at 80mph (1 wreck) and was pretty bad. I hope if or when I go down it's at low speeds as well. My dad is a cop and rides alot, it was 35yrs before he went down and thankfully it was at low speeds as well. Glad your ok. hate that about the bike, but it can be fixed.
