Howdy Ya'll

Howdy, just dropping in to introduce myself to the forum. I have been reading the sportbikes.net and zzrbikes.com forums for many months as a guest and I joined those forums and was told that this is a great place to get the word on whats happening around town ..
I got my 2005 ZZR600 out of Arkansas about 7 weeks ago just after this past Christmas... she had 2900 miles on her..got 3600 on it now.. extremely clean and I like the midnight ocean blue metallic color scheme.. I am not new to riding bikes.. this is my 4th, but until this one I have only owned older classic type bikes with a couple being 'rat' bikes.. my other bike is a 1981 Kawasaki KZ550 D1 (Gpz) << a true classic that I rescued and spent most of a year rebuilding and learning the art/science of 4 stroke bike engines.. I loved that bike..we had some good times out there, but the cost to buy parts and such for rebuilding the head on a 30 yr old bike is becoming a serious biotch.. just finding them is tough as well...I think I love my (new to me) ZZR600 more ..LOL.. The ZZR-600 is a beast !!! Therapy on 2 wheels ...much more fun and cheaper than a psychiatrist.. I changed out my stock exhaust today for the yoshimura rs3.. The difference between the growl from stock to yosh is music to my ears..(no silencer) but my motor seems to run abit rough now.. especially off idle and at roll on, plus after install of new bolt on yosh, the decel popping started so I will be removing/modding the Kleen system also...I did the carb shim mod (x2 @1mm) and I'm still waiting for the +4 advancer to arrive by UPS.. I'll tinker somemore till I get a handle on what the issue is.. My bike actually sat for a long period of time not being ridden I assume due to being a 2005 (built 2004) and having only 2900 miles on her when she came home to me. I think I'm the 3 rd owner..so far targa tank bra, yoshi Ride Smart-3, +4 advancer (on the way), carb shim, swing arm spools, and ZZR bar ends are the only mods so far.. anyway, this site is great from what I've seen so far.. ..I just got turned onto motohouston.com today.. I'd like to meet some fellow houston area riders because I pretty much don't know anyone that rides bikes anymore....I posted a pic of my bike.. I took one of the pics the sunday before last on a ride out to lake livingston.. The place I stopped at was an ice house called the Hilltop @ hwy 190 near onalaska and point blank.. some nice twisties on the back roads in that area.. well I guess that's all I got for now.. Its a nice day for a cruise around town

rolled north on 45 to willis.. 1097 west to 150 then over to cold spring...then hit 156 north around the west side of lake livingston up to 190 @ point blank.. chilled out at the Hilltop ice house for a few.. jumped back on the bike and kinda got lost sorta on purpose for a few hours .. then found my way out da woods.. backtracked to the house for a cold beer .. some nice riding up that way.. It's been quite a long time since I ventured too far from home base on a bike.. my old 81 Kz550 D just wasn't trustworthy enough for my liking to roam in the jungles of east texas, but the zzr600 can go anywhere.. it's a good feeling to not have to worry too much about breaking down in the middle of BFE... thanks for the welcome to the forum gents

ok got a photo album set up and uploaded some pics of the bike before , during and after the tear down and rebuild.. i can't upload them all now.. cause I'm in the middle of open heart surgery on the ZZR600.. I'm going back into the carbs to tweek and clean them.. plus doing a Kleen air system modification as well.. plus some suspension adjustments..I got almost everything removed and I'm itching to get in there before the sun sets on me..
