It is an Arai but it belongs to Colin, notices the shaded Arai logo? that to me looks like a non-commitment .

+1, If I had to guess, Ben lost his helmets in luggage & had to borrow one of Colins or he is JUST signed a Aria deal and has not finialized the design. My guess is he lost his lid in luggage.

It'll be a shame if he's not with HJC anymore.

I just got one of the hjc trophy helmets. Incredible design and for the price it's a great deal - plus dot and snell approved.

his helmets probably MIA, so he had to borrow colin's. probably had to cover the arai logo for contractual reasons with hjc? his leathers still sport the hjc logo

It just looks like he found a better helmet.

The caption under the photos at superbikeplanet.com read:
"Spies' helmets decided en route that they'd rather skip the Sepang test if it's all the same. He had to borrow some lids from CE2."

As for the quality, at that level they are all custom made so the quality is virtually identical.

Yah they released the first photo on 02/05/2010 with the caption: "Spies had to do a PR appearance in Milan before the test and came down with major jet lag by the time he reached Kuala Lumpur."

Then 2 days later (and 2 days after my original post) they released the new picture with that updated caption. Just figured it would make for some decent discussion at the time... But either way its good to see HJC moving into MotoGp.. And I believe Kenny Noyes is going to be running HJC in Moto 2 as well. Dunno who else...
