The Original, Mexican, on 14th st.; Mosquito Cafe, on 14th; The Sunflower Cafe, brunch to late lunch only, 14th st. each between Broadway and Harbor Side.
Olympia Grill, Greek, 4908 Seawall Boulevard.
Gino's, Italian (not as good as Di'Bella's but cheaper), Stewart just past 61st street.
Luigi's, awesome northern Italian food (less tomato), the strand by 23rd street (not cheap).
Yamato's Japanese Sushi and Grill, best sushi till you get to Clear Lake and decent hibachi, 61st street just north of Stewart (ave. S).
Capital Q BBQ, uh...good cheap barbeque, 1228 Seawall Boulevard.
New York Pizzaria, between 6th and 4th/Holliday on Seawall.
Those are the places where I eat
Gumbo Bar, used to be good before the storm, but I didn't like it much after new management it is on Post Office by 21st street.
There is a new Barbeque place that opened up on Stewart just east of 61st, but the last time I went by (early December) they didn't have their smoker working so I can't say anything.
Remember, there is no smoking in Galveston restaurants now.

We go to Gaido's on the seawall. It's a little expensive, but the food is fantastic.

Really? Huh, he opened after Ike. Did he have to close again? I haven't been by the strand in a few months. I will have to check.

I know he had just completed a renovation before the storm and was low on cash when the damage hit, but he had gotten it open.

I was thinking of Luigi's when I commented. Gino's is definately open now. I ride by it every day on my way home.

As mardi gras starts this weekend i think i want to try and make it the easiest place to get too that is not too expensive, also that there can be maybe 10 bikes that are not parked all over .

Ok a slight change in plans.
Does anyone have a good place to eat WEST of the seawall? Between san louis pass and the seawall? that way we can avoid the mardi gras crowd and can just high tail it outa town when done?
