WR250X have enough power?

Got my eye on a new '08 for CHEAP, but a little worried it will have no (or maybe just little tiny ones).

Any of you guys have personal experience with one of these 'lil guys?

Thanks!

Todd

Guy on thumpertalk compared power much like DRZ400SM a while back. But not nearly as many aftermarket upgrades.

I've done alot of research on this bike and I can tell u no one really answered that question!! When I was looking for a second bike it was btween wr250x and drz-sm. Either way i've seen a video on YouTube that had a wr250x with a turbo kit pulled up the front in every gear!!

I've had a wr250x and it's got power but it's not by any means a speed machine. It will wheelie in the first 3 gears no problem. I've also had mine up to about 87 mph. Don't expect to go any faster than that. Freeway riding is not the bike's strong point. But around town, twisties, etc is where the bike likes to shine. It's fun, comfortable, light and a blast to ride. I wish i could have kept mine but it was either get a sport bike or keep my WR.

Haha that bike is a stoppie machine for sure. I had no problem clutching it up in first second or third gear. Third gear you had to work alittle for it but it came right up.

first gear you don't have to touch the clutch, 2nd gear just a light pop would do it.

wheelies on those bikes are all about weight distribution and clutch action, try standing on the seat.

similar to a ninja 250. low geared, similar top speed. remember it's a single, not a twin though, so it's happier at lower RPMs
