Full coverage on my ZX10 was $6600/year. That's why it had liability only when it was stolen.

Also check into liability and theft anyhow. But if you don't have medical coverage and can't afford the insurance, may want to re-think the bike.

I just checked Dairyland. I used to use them on the 954, and they were cheap! I checked last week on the Sv, and they were more than double Progressive.

It also helps if you can bundle.. I have the house, cars and bikes all thru the same agent... not the same provider but it all rolls.

I thought mine was expensive but now I see its not. Got full coverage on 08 gsxr 750 for $89 a month through state farm. I have my truck and house covered too so each month its a $188 an I'm somewhere in my 30's. My agent asked what kind of bike it was so I said it'd be classified as a sports bike. He looked it up and said uh wait no the 750 is classified as a SUPER sport bike.....I liked the rate for sports bike better

I didn't even ask what mine are classed... just told them "ZX12R" and bit the bullet..

Kinda makes me miss the Bandit.. 1200CC, not a sport bike, $32 a month full coverage/uninsured/500 deductible/$2000 aftermarket parts

That sucks but I guess I'll have to rely on Lojack. I know my bike can be stripped before they find it but that's a chance I'll have to take.

Liability only is $350/year for me

I hope I don't regret it. I look at it like this. If I put less than $5300 in damage on my bike in a year, I win. If not, I'll be very sad.

That sounds like an excellent option. I keep hearing State Farm does liability and theft. I do have medical coverage. I'm really trying to be responsible but $4300 is excessive in my opinion. Just because my bike is fast, doesn't make me a bad rider, right???

Nope.. but apparently riders in your age group on these bikes cost the insurance companies more than others... just a fact. Try to be the exception and grow old with the rest of us!
