I started this thread for the following reasons:

1.) To actually learn something tested and true

2.) To discredit motorcycle magazine writers. Because they always write that such and such kawai, GXR, Yahama, honda ect... bike of the year blah blah comes stock 190+ horsepower yada yada. I just think they fudge the numbers. Mabye the bikes they test are modified. But they shouldnt write that you can just buy a bike stock from dealer that is 180 horsepower unless they give specifics about mods.

I just want to know the truth. What can any bike in stock form or mabye just with a PC and exhuast mod and tune achieve?

I think its a simple enough question.

Maybe try reading the fine print on the HP numbers.. are those crank or rear wheel?

And I haven't seen a recent test on any bike that had 180 hp stock... or even close.. mid 160's maybe.

Seen a claimed 168hp with pcIII and slip on. *disclaimer* all dynos are different. I wouldn't worry too much about HP #'s, but more about the A/F ratio being spot on.

I would guess around 190MPH. At some point it isn't about raw power, but areodynamics...

I would upgrade the suspension and buy a couple private lessons with Ty Howard.

If your looking for all that info at once you may have more luck googling the manufacturers info instead of expecting us to know all these detailed stats, jmo.

i dyno'ed my 07 busa with 300 miles on it. had 95.5 lbft torque, 155.5 hp. SAE corrected. ZXALAN has an 01 busa i think, with turbo, at 29 lbs of boost and it made over 450 hp. he has a thread on here about it titled, "pistons, the other white meat". i've heard that with exhaust, and PC and dyno tune, expect 12 hp at most, but more like 8 or so. put a cam and a few other light engine mods and you'll gain 25 or so. bore it up to a 1661cc and you'll gain quite a bit but have some other issues.

I've heard for top speed stuff on a busa, you'll need about 200 hp at the wheel to be able to hit 200mph. ZXALAN ran 225 in the mile at about 15 pounds of boost if i remember correctly. remove the limiter on a 14 or busa and you're capable of about 185 - 190 but it'll take you a while to get there. a stock busa runs about 170 - 175mph in a standing mile
