I was on the road again yesterday. I loved it. I thought it would take a long time to get used to riding and being comfortable, but I was wrong. It wasn't but about ten minutes into the ride that I was feeling comfortable and smiling! I really do love my bike.

wow! Glad it's done up and out riding again. The stock GSXR clipons were just too much for this old fart so I went with risers ... world of difference.

Now, tell us how you like the ride with that new front end.

Thank you for the new front end! I like it okay - I am leaned over quite a bit more, but that hasn't seemed to bother me at all. The suspension feels very stiff and I feel every bump - I'm going to have to adjust it for me. And it lowered the bike a little more than what it already was (which is actually nice - I still can't flat-foot, though), so I have to be careful with the kickstand again. With the bars that low, the bar-end mirrors are a pain in the . I'm considering other options.

My forearm was sore this morning when I got downtown, because I usually have a throttle rocker on the grip. I guess it's lost or broken from the accident, so I had to keep the throttle held the entire time. Plus, the plastic throttle plastic tube is broken and it causes the grip to stick to the bar - so the throttle sticks - I can't just let go I have to roll off.

I still want the paint/powder coat the rear-sets and get black levers, so the bike matches. And I still want a belly pan. Those are only aesthetic, though, so I have to wait until the sting of the $2k wears off and Wayne will spend more on my bike.

I'm going to get a new radiator and throttle plastic tube very soon. My left rear turn signal isn't working and I lost my SQODDY plates, because they expired, so I have to order a new plate.

Otherwise - I LOVE my bike!

You should take it by Motorcycles Unlimited and let Patrick and crew adjust the suspension for your weight, it will make a world of difference...

Awesome rebuilt

I have been reading about all the work you have put to your bike. I am currently working on my '05 sv650s after going down. For now, I will stick to the OEM struts, but I am just curious how much (estimate) did you spent on the painting of the gas tank (labor and paint). I need to fix a dent (size of a fist) and repaint it. Also where and who did the paint job on your gas tank it looks great.

I have to say that when I rode it I liked how it felt. Of course I would have to raise the suspension back to the normal height for myself. It would be cool to see how it would handle in a track situation.

I had dents in my tank and rash. Tony Ta (houseofpain) works at Tom's Paint and Body in Spring. You can PM him for a price - he's very fair. =) In fact, this is the second time he's painted my bike.

Ever thought of some risers or cough* dirt bars for the wrist and arm strain. Bar end mirrors are notoriously worthless, but look sweet. Bike looks badass though!

I disagree about bar end mirrors... I had rabbit ears on mine and couldn't see past my shoulders and elbows... I put on the bar ends and I can not only see behind me, but also into the lanes beside me (which is nice on the freeway)... it depends on where you position them... if the geometry is wrong, then you won't be able to see anything... Never had them installed on clip on bars... I have "superbike" bars on mine...
