I understand that. The reason why it's a good "street" upgrade is because most people don't know any better or haven't experienced better. But when you really start pushing it's not a good upgrade unless you have adgustable tripples trees.

Riding an SV makes you one of the coolest people I know. Of course, I'm nobody, so...

I guess it's a little about opinion, and a little about high performance. I'm not going to race the bike. Now that it's all custom I'm just going to pose on it.

Because of the lowering? Will adjustable triples allow you to raise it?

Maybe after years and years of practice I could do that one leg start/stop, but right now I lack the confidence to pull it off.

So, my handling was basically screwed up from the beginning. The lower front from the gsxr shouldn't be much different than what I had before.
Oh well then this is perfect for you lol. I'm not knocking your choice to use it. I was just sharing info on why it's not the best set up to go with.

It's okay - I appreciate you're input. So, what you're saying is that I won't be winning any races on it? I guess I'm okay with that. I only ride street. I've done one track day, which I loved. I hope to do more in the future. I commute to school downtown more than anything.

A couple years ago my da and I started playing with front ends. What I have found and proven to work awesome is. Sv1000 front end with remachined trees that make the offset the same as the 650. Soo now I have all the adjustability I could ever want and huge brakes. By the way to much brakes can definitly be a problem. It's put me on my a coue of times lol

Yes, I do. I haven't ridden at all this semester, though, because my bike is in pieces. I did have to trade in my truck on a smaller car - gas was killing me! $100 a week! Now I pay half that, but on my SV I only paid about $15-20 a week.

Trust me- my feelings were not hurt. I've had more than enough people and done more than enough research on my own to have formulated my own opinion of the swap. I had already heard about the problems with the lower front end, but I didn't think they would make much difference since my particular bike is so low already. I appreciate everybody's opinion and I do not judge or hate him for saying so.

Thanks for sticking up for me, though!

*not in the middle of the swap - swap is DONE. I'm waiting on paint (houseofpain), and clip ons/grips/levers. =) Engine is great and the bike will still start; no problems.

What is your shop? I had no idea you were that close... I am down there every single day and always looking for somebody to do work. My brother in law can do most of my big things, but he's only off a couple days a week; I hate to make him work on my bike on all his days off. Lucky for me, though, he has shown me how to do a lot of things.

Thanks for the offer! Maybe you could do the rear suspension and the steering damper? I'll have to wait on those since I have no more moneys.

Thank you. I have a mechanic on the payroll, though.

Don't tell guitarman I said that.
