The Damage

The SV had a thorough examination this evening.

The BAD:

Forks bent
Brake master cylinder broken
Front brake lever
Rear brake lever
Clipons bent
Grips torn
Turn signals busted
Tank dented and scraped
Radiator (cap neck? badly bent)
Frame sliders ground down
Tail plastics cracked and scraped
Subframe bent
Exhaust dented and leaking
Gas in my truck is over $100 each week, and I have to sit in traffic.

The GOOD:

It starts right up!
I purchased the GSXR 1k front end from Logan today and will do the swap. It's perfect timing, since it'll be apart anyway.
He also talked me into the Vapor instrument cluster.
AND the upgraded brake master cylinder (don't remember exactly, but Guitarman is ordering it) with braided steel lines.
I'm going to get some sleek, dual head lamps, as well.
I'm thinking of going with a shorty exhaust slip-on - any ideas??
Ken thinks he can straighten the subframe enough so that it's not as noticeable - right now it's completely crooked!

It probably won't be ridable for a couple of weeks, still, but it will be SOON! I can't wait. I sat on it tonight and started it up and almost started crying I really miss it - but it will be back and better than ever!

My son and I managed to straighten a subframe on a friend of his' R6. We used the new tail plastic to line up mounting holes and planned, as best as we could, to use as few 'straightening events' as possible. Still ended up using a couple of washers here and there as shims. Good luck.

The upgrades are out of my pocket - but the damage is covered by the rider.

Sounds like it'll be a bad bike when you're done with it.

Make sure to take pics of the current damage and during the rebuild, sounds like it should come together nicely when done.
