Rossi and Mladin Doomed?

Rossi and Mladin seem to be doomed for the 06' season so far. Rossi doesn't seem to have an adequate bike to keep it up in the top 3 this year, first a crash, then tire troubles, and now running issues, is his season doomed or will Yamaha get their shiit together and build the right bike for him, Colin is doing very well so far.

Mladin seems to be doomed also, with Spies 6th win of the season while Mat is no longer in the limelight what is going thru his mind? Hopefully Ben will take the season by storm, and maybe Tommy Hayden will move up front and give Mat and Ben some competition. I was really glad to see Ben win again.

what do you guys think of the season so far?

Pretty cool season so far if you like 2 wheel racing, eight riders in GP with legitimate shot at the title. Houston's own Colin Edwards really starting to do well. 250's are fun as to watch this season, just watch Takahashi's last lap at Le Mans to see some fun racing. Mladin getting spanked by Spies...

Definitely a changing of the guard in AMA, Mladin may have lost the plot a bit. The yoshi GSX-R platform is just too dominant for there to be much interesting racing though so I dont watch much of it. Mat may be down just for this season though, Suzuki may send Spies to WSBK as a rising star like HRC did with Nicky Hayden and Mladin will once again be king of AMA. Spies will definitely win the AMA SBK championship, every race he gets stronger and Mladin is tapped out.

Rossi on the other hand is definitely not out. His race in Le Mans was flawless, just got stopped by mechanical failure. Mugello is next, where the Italian riders regularly spank the whole field. Rossi will be just fine he may not win it all but he still has 12 races to try, and that is enough for his skill level. I think it's good that he's challenged otherwise we may have lost him to F1.

maybe his current interest is in F1 and not in MotoGP.

he better straighten up quick, he's 40 points behind Nicky and getting further away with each race.

That's the thing. If luck was on his side, he would probably have the lead in the championship because of the crashes, mechanical problems, and chattering from the Yamaha chassis which are largely out of his control. The grip is not so good at Le Mans, so the chattering he's been dealing with the whole season (except at Qatar) didnt come into play...if you watched the French GP race he passed Capa, Melandri, and Pedrosa in a single lap. Those guys arent chopped liver. Rossi was just flying...because he didnt have to contend with chatter. Qatar, same questionable grip but limited chatter...Rossi wins.

I think his foray into F1 was because he was bored with winning so convincingly...and he hates Alonso. But if he loses motoGP this year you can be sure he will be racing 800's next season.

I think he is playing possum too but probably to make things look good. Nobody wants to watch racing when everybody is getting blown off the track by one guy. I mean... did you see his little dance after his get off in the first race and still pulled into mid pack?

have a chance? YES! but, if his luck doesn't change he'll be sittin at the same points count as Gibernau. I truly would like to see Hayden win the points championship though. just for a change. Pedrosa sure is strong though. I think he's the man. I'm suprised that Hayden was so far behind P.

also for to pull more than a 3 sec. lead in a matter of a few short laps was very immpressive and says alot about his past races this season. if he can do it while up front why can't he do it from mid pack, i mean he's pretty good in traffic. it's a challenge but who really knows what he's thinking this season, what is his strategy for the year?

the same with Mladin, what is he tryin to do. maybe they are just playing some head games with the others. Mat could've easily have passed Spies if he wanted too but whats really going on?

Oh yeah... I said it last year that Nicky will be one to watch this year. He is getting comfortable out there but, we all know what The Doctor can do.

correct! you can't win all of them for your career span. Just like Mladin. he's dominated the SB world for how long now. It is someone else's time to be the champ. but the same goes for Dani P. should he keep up with needing to be the champ of GP? Yes and No.

I'd like to see some of the older guys get up on the podium more, like Capi. for instance, Where's Biaggi??

We all know Rossi has the potential to take it home again. Like they say 80% rider 20% bike. I think once his luck changes his biggest competition will be the rookies of the year. Pedrosa is a strong kid but I wonder if he can keep his pace throughout the season.

Biaggi's done with GP. Same with Xaus and Barros. I heard a while back that Biaggi was giving tips to Rossi on how to drive the F1's

real nice to see Hayden and Colin E doing some good ..But dont wash Rossi's season out so soon. Pedrosa is good, I just dont feel his time is now.

i wouldnt be suprised if he catches up to the others fairly quickly. alot of weird stuff has happened in GP after 4 races and something else can come up in the next 4-8.
