Angry Out of Gas! opps! Lesson Learned

So I read threw the manual when I got the bike and was under the impression that my 2008 CBR 1000 RR had a 1.6 Fuel reserve after the light turns on.

well... its 1.06 and not 1.6.(i looked over the .0 ) ran out of gas last night and had to push it for about 2.3 miles on 225 uphill until i reached a gas station 2 hours later all sweaty! Once i gassed up she didn't start! I had the bike left blinker on, so people would see me, plus my radar on(opps) so low Battery. got a jump from some people at the gas station and drove home.

There are cops involved before i got to the station but i won't bore you with there "Bitchassness". i'm just happy i made it home in one piece, and no damage to my bike. Gear will need a very good cleaning after i dreanched it with sweat.

Lesson Learned!

My gauge read .9 while I was heading south going up the 6-10 Bridge coming from I-10. I figured ehh i'll put gas when i get home i still have .7 gal. left.( or so i thought as i took the 6-10 to 225 Sweet turn with some mad lean action going on.) then the bike started to bubble after i had passed Allen Genoa. so i tucked and coasted as far as i could.

Just did a google maps of the distance and it was only 1.8 m. and 37min walking. took me 2 hours up that hill. i'm out of shape

2 Cops showed up in a flat bed trailer saying there was a report of some one walking on the freeway. They stopped me after i had FINALLY got to the top of the hill and was going to jsut ride the bike down. ( i'm dripping sweaty, out of breath and vomited twice already.)

Story

Old Cop: We got a report of some one walking on the freeway.
ME: could you please give me and my bike a ride to the shell @ richy & 225. i ran out of gas and am tired of pushing my bike.
Old cop: i'm a impound your bike and give you a ticket for walking on the freeway
ME: HAHAHAHA i like to see you try
Old Cop: ser your bike is not working and your walking on the freeway do i have to call for back up.
ME: go ahead i'll call for back up to:
Old Cop: What
Young Cop(Driving Flat bed):laughs and mumbles something .

i take have my licenses in hand and call the toll road authority # on the back and tell them i need help or some gas . i give the lady my description and the Flat Beds # saying i saw them pass me laughing.. 8 seconds later i hear her on there CB radio.

Old cop says he isn't going to help me because he is off duty and going home
Young cop says he is a A Hole but listens to him. Old cop tells me have a good evening and before he leaves i tell him if i die by being ran over and he sees me on the news tomorrow morning because no one would help me i hope he sleeps well with his family. he laughs and tells Young cop to go.
Young Cop: . we can't give you a ride but go ahead well drive behind you. I say thank you and start my o so slow, snail pace push of my bike down and up the hill to the gas station. once i'm there driver waves and old Cop flicks me off. I'm just glad and said my prayers that i wasn't hit.

One time i had a tire blow out and i did a 180 on the freeway and stopped next to the barrier in the middle of the freeway. I have a cop drive by and wave at me. WTF is wrong with some of these people. I had to sit there for 45 minutes till help showed up.

that story sucks! Sorry to hear that. Police: to serve and to protect... when they feel like it. Society has seriously gone downhill. Gone are the days where trust, decency and an honest helping hand was a common trait in humans. Every arrogant cop that i see now makes me hate some of them even more.

How many miles did you get out of it after the light came on? Just wondering, I've not tested mine out yet.
