do you have to have a m liscence to drag race?

im getting my bike ready for the strip and could use some tips before i show up there, i have a regular liscence and a motorcycle safety corse certificate, but no M liscence, will that be a problem? also what are most comon things they look for in tech inspection? only thing i can think of that i dont have is a chain guard.. do i have to have a safty cut off swith also? my brother works at Hennassey performance in sealy and said they'd let me race there, but i'd like to go to the one in baytown as well

Not sure about passing tech, but you don't need a class M or even a DL to race.

never even took out my lic. before at the track.. I would think the only lic. you would need is an nhra lic. if you are going sub 9.99? (prob only for cars)

You do need a license per the rules. They dont check though. Get a key chain plastic type tether. Velcro it to the kill switch. Its that simple. You bust 9's and there gonna want a NHRA license though. You will need a chain guard. We go most Fridays.

Just remember.. if they are "laid back" about the rules, you never know what kind of POS might be in the lane next to you. I would rather go to a sanctioned track and know that everyone had to go thru tech.

this is out of the blue but i got a solonoid cylinder from a gas well from work the other day and it uses natral gas from the well to open it, i install soaplauncher's on gas wells, im gonna try to put it on my bike and use some other type of gas to operate it on the bike for a shifter. it'll be cool

You will still need to kill the ignition. Just buy a Cycle-Tek air shifter

Mark knows how I think about the 1/8th.

People were blaintenly drag racing drunk and one rear ended me when I was on the busa, took off and no one did anything.

Navasota...been there to check it out, wouldn't race on it tho'. Did they ever fix that little dip about half way down? Good place for betting and running a car that won't pass elsewhere.

+1... no one likes dodging parts falling off pieces of ... not to mention loosing laps because the track had to shut down to clean..

Try to remember it's not all about "you", there are a bunch of others that paid good money to run that day/night, and one person trying to sneak thru with questionable equipment can ruin it for everyone.

If it turns out to be you, you will NOT be very popular.

Is Navasota open again? Last time I checked they were closed, for good. That was a couple years ago though.
