Sport touring tires on a GSX-R

Should I try some sport touring tires? I put in a lot of straight line highway miles and was wondering if I could get some tires that last a little longer. My BT016 is getting close to the tread indicators at 6000 miles.

Has anyone had experience with any?
I was thinking about getting the bt021.

Should be fine as long as you aren't trying to run with the fast guys in the twisties. Pilot Roads would be another good choice.

Check out the new Dunlop Roadsmarts as well.. and all the new ones have surprisingly good grip.. at least equivilant to a standard Pilot Power.

bt021 or Pilot Road 2's Excellent choice. You will save your money that way.

if you like the 16, go with the 21. I hate switching to new brands that I know nothing about!

+1!
The pilot road 2ct is my current tire and have broke it in on back roads to a 3/8" chicken strip, I know I can do better it's just been cold and damp.
I have a friend running this tire and he swears there's over 9K on it, and it still has the tread sipes.
I'm heavy on the throttle but I plan on getting at least 8K out of it.
This tire is about $40. more but will last more than twice as long...for me.

The 021's do very well, both in terms of mileage and they stick great in the twisties.

on some of the black, slicker streets, i could hit it in 1st (goin about 15mph)to do a power wheelie and it'd spin, let off, hit it again, and loft the front
