Lewisville motorcyclist dies in crash
Posted Friday, Jan. 22, 2010

njones@star-telegram.com

A 22-year-old Lewisville man died Thursday night after he crashed his motorcycle into a SUV at a high rate of speed, police said.

The crash occurred in a residential neighborhood just west of the Vista Ridge mall, police said.

Craig Bishop was pronounced dead at Medical Center of Lewisville shortly after the 7:30 p.m. crash. A female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where she is being treated for broken bones and internal injuries, a Lewisville police spokesman said Friday.

According to police, Bishop was southbound in the 2700 block of Rockbrook Drive when he struck the driverís side door of a Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection with Crestview Point. The SUV was attempting to turn left from Crestview onto northbound Rockbrook Drive, police said.

Though the crash was still under investigation Friday morning, witnesses said the motorcycle was traveling at a high-rate of speed just before the collision.

Four occupants of the Nissan were taken to Medical Center of Lewisville for precautionary reasons, police said.

Sounds like he was hauling , which he shouldn't have been doing in a NEIGHBORHOOD, and hit a car on the driver side turning left to turn out of his lane... Sorry to hear, but sounds like the rider was at fault... Rip

thats the part of ridding fast. People will just say "Yeah he was hauling not a half mile ago!" doesnt matter he was in control and prob near the speed limit just before he hit. :(

RIP

Werd. Some bikes sound like they are going fast, when they really are not moving that quick.

i was pulled over twice, while honestly going the speed limit because the cop said "i heard you coming, there's no way you were only going the speed limit." neither clocked me either...hotbodies exhaust screams. who knows how fast he was really going, most everyone speeds anyways. people need to quit being so self-righteous and have some compassion every once in a while. people are quick to judge until it hits home.
