Just get over a lane. Thats been out a while and should be automatic. Slow down and get over outta the lane close to the stop.

If you see an emergency vehicle with their lights on and flashing pulled over on a shoulder or in the street ( cop, fire dept. ambulance) leave the lane that is closest to him open if possible. Also, slow down to a 20 mph under the speed limit if the posted speed is 65, slow down to 45 when passing him.
If the posted speed limit is under 20mph then drive at 5 mph to pass them.
If a cops got his lights on slow down and steer away...pretty lay mans terms if you ask me.

this happened to me when the new law came about.
I got on the freeway, they were just down from the onramp, I saw them, had zero chance to pull over to another lane away from them, and they knew it, they pull me over and I explain, I know you saw I just got on and had no chance to pull over into the horrendous traffic in the lane next. they said yep, we saw but to bad.
I was getting and the wife was saying calm down. They finally wrote me a warning and let me go. I told them I thought it was total where they were working and its a bogus deal.
they were basically stationed at the on ramp and one was a few feet down to issue the tickets / warnings.
totally bogus as I knew I should pull over but couldnt. That was a case of some bastards right there
they were state dps boys
