Forest Gnomes Noob Ride 1.24.10

NOOB RIDE w a moderate group of helpers

Get it? No RickiRocket Racin'.... go on your own ride.

I have a few friends that are looking to go out and asked for a tour of some backroads.

IF you sign up as an experienced rider, that means you're taking another that will need you to be there under your wing and riding with the group, not around it.

What: Forest Gnome Noob Ride limited to 5 Noobs; the ride from start/stop is approx 160miles. Those that wish to afterwards we can grab a bite or go hang out somewhere. Moderate groups goes ahead and alternate helping w noob group for sweeper/leading positions if needed.

When: 1.24.10 Sunday, KSU 10am.... get there early!!!!!!!!!!

Where: PP69 (242/i45 shell mcd's)

untitledmapcopy

Gear: Helmet, jacket, gloves. Always recommend ankle-covering shoes or riding boots, knee/shin protection or suits.

Bikes: Come w a full tank, tires in good shape and air set properly.

Mandatory Meetings at PP69 for Noobs at 930am and 3090

Pace is set by leaders based on noob riders. Will have designated leaders/sweepers/blockers.

Ride does not end at Yankees, will end at 105/149 gas station.

2. Learn who your leader is for your group. And follow, stage, follow them alone, not what others tell you etc. Its easy to wind up in a different group if people are trying to signal you to leave a stop.

Leaders/Sweepers: If you have a jersey from the memorial rides, wear it. I have a few sleaves for elbows if you wish to wear them(left arm for signaling.) Otherwise, 8 bux Academy Football section.

3. Leave early enough to get to the meet spot with plenty of time to spare for the meeting at 930, especially if you are riding the noob rides or havent ridden w the Forest Gnome group.

4. Remember your gear, bike checks etc. Some of us will have air gauges when you get to PP69. Fill up too.

5. This is a noob/moderate ride. If you wanna about the slow speeds Im not going to listen. We do private rides for faster rides and if you havent been on those or invited you're probably barking at the end of your own leash not ours

6. If you're in the moderate group we should have a good idea of your riding abilities. Many have offered to rotate and help the noob group, thank you. We will need a designated sweeper for the last noob group(mine) a designated go-back rider that is riding in the moderate group for the complete stops(Anderson Shell, Yankees) and anyone to fall between the noob groups on 3090. Otherwise the moderate group will have a leader and sweeper(incase something does happen, first response till we get there.) The noob group ahead of me will be swept by myself and wait for at each stop of the ride to see us visually before continuing. If at the complete stops my group is too slow for a noob rider, you're welcome to step up to the next noob group.

All this will be discussed in detail to the whole group at the preride meeting, including gear explanations, road conditions, route, general riding and noob meeting.

I BELIEVE as your Tour Guide:

you need to remember this is a group ride, a NOOB GROUP RIDE, at that and anyone acting out of terms w disrespect of the group will be stopped. Take it for what it is and keep your ego, yourself, and your pride in check. Respect the group and let's have a good time.

you say that but I cant recall one forest ride over a year ago I wasnt still tipsy or had a headache. And Ive led over 60 some on MH alone w groups commonly in the 30-40s

But Im a professional.

JK... I stay out late and often need a few miles before I find my groove for the day. Insomniacs are a different creature.

Bday boy (JustNick) WILL have a good time Saturday I am to make certain of this
