I'm 1/2 japanese, I grew up on bento boxes baby... I've had sushi for lunch near the docks of tokyo bay at tsukiji, the most unbelievable freshest sashimi you'll get even in japan. I fly to NYC (sapporo east in the east village, for anyone ever in manhattan) once or twice a month and get the best sushi in the USA, outside of maybe SF. you want to eat overpriced overhyped sushi with buffet style rice like ra's, miyakos, or rickshaw well that's not me, I'll go there for a drink but... nothing else.

I know a few things about sushi. But I prefer sashimi... :icon_bigg

I agree ohishii is great for the price.
But for the sake of sushi, I have to disagree.
Sushi rice is always too wet, doesn't hold together well (it always falls apart when I deep in soy sauce), there's not enough air in between the rice, tuna's not great, shrimp is over cooked, misoshiru sucks, Udon is flavorless, I have to give it for Aji once in a while, but that's about it.

I also grew up in Korea for 27 years.
Since my home town is the largest port city in S. Korea, I have my thing down with seafood as well.
I also dig Sashimi.

I don't like most catfish.
If it's not treated right (or not fresh), it tastes like mud.

But.
Berry Hill does have good fish tacos.
That's one of few places I go to get fish taco in town.

, that fishy looks pretty good. Yeah I know Nippon it's just down the street from me. The setup is cool only place in houston I've seen japanese businessmen hanging out like they're back home. The mom and pop owners are pretty friendly too, the old man reminds me of my uncle.

I've never been to Kubo's but I've heard good things. Wherever you all decide, I'm down.
