iPhone mount question

I am looking for a way to mount my iphone to my bike. I've seen ideas like this:
http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...t=mount+iphone

And I've seen the mount that hooks onto your handle bar.

I would like something that doesnt stick out quite as much. Maybe just a plastic case stuck to the bike that I am able to slide the phone in an out of (kinda like the one in the link, but not hooked to the whole arm).

Any suggestions?

I use a tank bag and just put it in the clear map bag on top. What are you doing with the phone during rides?

Mostly for the GPS. I got lost a couple times the other week, and it was a pain having to pull over, get the iphone out of my pocket and check, then drive some more, miss the turn, and repeat.

Ram Mount would be your best bet. I bought Pyro's in that link. I used it for awhile until I upgrade to 3G. When I bought the new holder I also ordered the piece to attach directly to the handlebar.

I love it. I use it as my speedometer atm, but will use it for maps occasionally.

I did that with my tank bag at first. Houston summer temps changed that quick. No ventilation to cool down from the sun.

Miranda's is really nice. She was watching traffic when we were in it to tell us the wreck was up ahead... very useful; if I were in the market I'd get hers. Its proven.

RAM Mounts FTW. If I could find one that would fit my 3G S in it's case I would still be using one.

Not exactly ideal for your bike, but I just bought two of these today. Kick price and great in the car.
