Backfire

Sup peeps I have a 04 zx10r with a pcIII, arata full exhaust and bmc filter. My question is , does anyone know why it backfires when I down shift? At night you can see a flame shoot out! Is this bad for my bike? Any help would be appreciated.

My zx14 does the same thing. I believe that u will have get a custom tune to lean out the extra fuel at throttle cut off. Some like that......I dont think it harmful to ur bike... Mines been doing it for about a year now and I haven't seen any ill effects
