Texmex was correct about it starting as a joke. The cops took it differently though.

I was one of the OG's in the club. In a 3 year period I accumulated 67 tickets on my bikes and even got 11 at one time. Lucky I did not get killed. We did the 610 race track several times but it was not in 9 minutes. I don't remember exactly how quick but we did it a lot.

Back then I had a 88 FZ600 then went to a 90 ZX-7. Still hang around with one of the other OG's but lost track of the others. Any of them still around? If so look me up.

What do you mean by honor?

Neon Rome does not ring a bell. In the very beginning George was the one passing out the 911 stickers, he also had a Porsche 911 at the time, guys I remember from the start right off of the top of my head George,Kano, Mike, Mike D, Larry, Stephan. I have some old pictures some where. I quit riding once I got shot back in 91 while on my ZX-7. Was a victim of a carjacking but I was on my bike.

I remember george M. He later got the corvette, and had the 93' CBR 900 rr, always wearing the "musuem of flight" shirt. French guy named robert (i think) with the FZR 1000.

of course ZX allen is here. Wez, and brother Laman , Sean vitelli with the thrashed old red katana. Some of the "10-west" guys as well....quite a few I remember. I got tons of pics somewhere. I may post eventually.

Holy . Ronald Byrd. What are you up to man? Talk about back in the days of the hood. I lived on Carby and went to school with you and Martin (back when you both had the FZR's) You used to ride wheelies right by my house behind Melrose Park. Talk about old times. Hope all has been going well for you. My parents still live over there on Carby.

Hi Warren. Yeah my mother still lives over there as well. I wore that bike out on one wheel. Your house was the starting point to full throttle down Carby haha. Don't know if you remember the 78 TransAm that Jaime/Scott Owens had. I own it (for 16 years) but now it has 851hp on motor with 1250hp with the nitrous and still a street car . Still work in the A/C business.

Wow, Myself and a group of guys from Texas City would ride with those guys on Saturday nights. We would leave Texas City at 10pm on Saturday. Meet up on Westheimer or Richmond. Then take off and ride from 610 to Downtown on Memorial then back to 610 up Allan PKWY. Going way to fast, riding an 87 1000R Ninja, getting way to many tickets, doing 120 most of the way down I45 back to Texas City to get home at 4am Sunday morning. The speed limit use to be 55mph on the gulf freeway. One night I got a ticket for 97 in a 55 (was doing 160 mph)(DPS Fox body Mustang). Lots of fun. Many great stories. Glad I survived it.

Back in '98, I made a half attempt at the 610 Loop.. I was ridin with a group of OGs, I can't even remember their names now, but one was Tony (Crazy Tony I called him)... Used to ride an R1 back then, wheelied and stunted the out of it, everyone knew him back then... Had a custom air brushed helmet with like monster teeth all across the front.. (Does Tony Carbahol ring a bell?)...

Anyway I was riding a ZX11 and started just over the 610 bridge @ I10.. I don't know how fast I was going but I could barely keep up with them, I know it was atleast 140 or so all the way around the north loop til about 290 when I chickened out... Too much traffic (even at 2 am)... They got away from me by the time I got to Westheimer. I ended up getting stopped by Houston Metro for unsafe lane change, he tagged me with a bunch of other stuff as well...(no inspection, blue headlight, noise pollution).. He asked me if I was with another group and I said no and asked why, he said there was a report of reckless bikers flying down 610..

I happily took my ticket and rolled out slowly back home.

I never tried it again... But I stand by the fact that there is no way you could make that run in less then 25-30 mins...

Isn't Rome the fella that got killed on the Ducati 916 trying to run the loop? (I may be mistaken but vaguely remember that)...

This was in the peak of the JCI days... Best time of my life as far as motorcycling is concerned...
