911 club!! Myth or Truth???

When I first moved to Houston I heard of a 911 club that basically earned the name by running the 610 loop in 9 minutes and 11 seconds OR something like that. Is this just a myth??? What do you know about it???

How long is the 610 loop?
What is the average speed required to run it in 9 minutes 11 seconds?

Give me your thoughts guys.

Not sure but, there is a group of exotic cars that run the beltway.

I'm too scared, poor, and slow to do that... and never heard of any bikes doing it that fast.

Isn't the loop 35-40 miles around? A lap average of 120mph would be in the 17-20 minute range. Doing it in 9 minutes would require doubling that speed.

Oh , I thought this was long dead....:laughing6

It started in 1988 when I was working @ SW Honda -Suzuki (now Stubb;s SW) 911 club was originally from CA, referring to motocross riders hurting themselves, some stickers were made that I got a hold of, and gave a few out to the current hooligans in Houston at the time, and the rest as they say is history. What started as a joke turned into a "legend", I am honored..:icon_bigg
You could say it was like the Motohouston of the day.....

It's 39.9 miles exactly, so the math gives you like 260 MPH average speed required...not even rossi could be part of that l337 club.

I'm thinking it's called talking out of one's .

I found:

38.3 miles around the loop

------------------
Here's the math for a 9:11 run:
38.3 miles = 202224 feet
9:11 = 555 seconds

202224 ft/ 555 seconds= 364 feet per second
364 feet per second = 248 miles/hr

------------------
A 60 MPH average would take 38.3 minutes to go all the way around so even at 120 MPH it would take 14 minutes.

Ok so do we have a re-birth? No I think not - there are enough people going down as it is, we don't need another reason!!! But thanks for the info - good to clear the myth up.
