3 palms review....

Not much of a mx'er here as I prefer the trails normally, but with a cancelled hare scramble event and a clean bike in the garage and the wife out of town, I had to ride. Made my way out to 3 palms with a couple buds yesterday.

Slicker than Al's in the mud, but fun nonetheless. Well worth the $21 as a guest or whatever. I think there were 5 tracks total, mild jumps for the noobs like me, but very muddy as I stated (however, the lady informed us before we went in). Just ripping around the track with your buds is a blast....kinda like racing without racing. I did realize I am severely out of shape...2 full laps going all out and I was ready to fall over.

$20 in gas round trip...(I'll drive next time to even the debt)
$21 track fee
$8 in gas for the bike
$5 in quarters to get the mud off my bike

no one telling me when to get on/off the track...ride as much as you'd like.
Dirt is proving to be cheaper.

3 Palms is by far my favorite track. Spent many days practicing and racing there. You have to love the triplie step up... 5th gear pinned and whipping it over. ( i just had a flash back) Thanks Danny... I think it will help you with your wind/stamina/cardio if you ride those tracks hard. Danny think about the main evenbts and how many laps we had to do. i waan ride again.

for the location and set up, 3 palms is by far overall the best facility this side of texas.. the only track i like better is cycle ranch.. that track is motocross heaven.

I love Three Trees. One of my buddies broke his femur on the highway jump, it was pretty bad. But i love how they have a variety of styles to ride on from tight (supercross track) to wide open (GP track).

Haha, ya i have buddies that broke their wrists, ankles, collar bone.. one guy broke his neck.

I remember when that track first opened and most of the berms weren't built yet.. we used to go there on a weekend and there would be almost nobody there becuase nobody really knew about it yet.. We would get out of school and go straight there during the week and would only have to share the track with 4 other people.. Those were the days.

yeah, broken bones....that's why I'm not a huge fan of MX....I learn the track, build up speed, and then eat ...

trail riding keeps me on my toes, but doing MX every once and a while has proven to be fun as well....even more fun when you're banging bars with you buds.

we'd leave the gate in order of 1,2,3 and then see who finished the lap first....a sure way to break a bone or two.

Fun track, you can ride 50's on the mini track with freinds and thats a blast. My brother freinds dad broke his neck and died out there over 10 years ago, but hey we all know the risks when we throw the leg over right? I like the river track alot

125 2-stroke or 250 4-stroke for beginner MX bike. Lots of power yet still forgiving.

no worries, that's why I posted it.

I'll say this...I ride a dinosaur 2 stroke 250 and I've been riding for 11 years. I wouldn't suggest a 250 2t for a first bike. However, this bike has more power than I'll ever use more than likely.
