arrested for street racing!

ok, so's when you get a phone call in the middle of the night, and you hear some kid (friend of your sons) on the line saying previously mentioned son was speeding on I-45 and picked up and hauled in for racing.....
same mentioned son is home on leave from the AF and is supposed to fly out tomorrow

was told he got clocked at 85, he was in the ex wifes new dodge truck and he got a ticket for wreckless driving.
I have tried calling Houston jail a kabillion times and its busy.
I guess we wait for a call from him and go bail him out.

any ideas / clues / helpful hints?

whew, just glad its not a "your son has been in an accident " call

well, if the laws are anything like some of the street racing laws in new york ( from what i read a few yrs back, not sure if they still do it ) its not just jail time. if you get cought street racing in new york, the police sieze your car, and you can only get it back by purchasing it from them, and thats only in special cases.

eithher way, hes in deep doodoo, the po-po dont like street racers. all you see on the news is how kids were killed street racing.

if this is a real deal, and not just a what if, i wish whoever it is the best

ok, finally found out more info, him and his buddy were driving whack and weaving in and out of traffic speeding and the cop pulls em over and goes ballistic. treating em like total doo-doo which tells me the popo was at the blatant stupidity he saw going on. He got 3 tickets and he is in deep doo-doo and court at 9 am. Still trying to get info on bonding him out, they still dont show him in the "system" though, so its hard to get real info, just tidbits from various sources.

Call a Bail Bondsman, they can get the info pretty quickly. It still may take 8 hours to get him released AFTER posting bond..........it took 12+ for me.

funny how the cops are the ones to blame when he was indeed driving reckless and stupid. I'm sure the cop saw enough to really him off, especially with as many fatalities as there are these days with racing and such.
I'm just thankful it was this kind of phone call instead of the others we have heard about lately.
