See.....I don't know how to ride the bike well enough yet to feel comfortable taking it out of my neighborhood.....so, uh....anyone near Pearland feel like coming out here to do this?

If not, I suppose I could borrow the tools from someone and then drop them off later when I finish.

But....the free whiskey bottle is for a volunteer who wants to come here and put them on. =)

you can go to northern tools and buy a cheap torque wrench. the slider instructions will provide the torque for the bolts. buy a wrench within or capable of those tightening specs. it will fit either 1/2" or 3/8" sockets. then buy a 8mm (the instructions may even state the size specific) allen socket or hex socket. in other words, fits a rachet. some torque wrenches you can loosen bolts with, some it is absolutely necesary to not use them for loosening,. so you might need to buy a regular longer handle 1/2" or 3/8" rachet for the loosening as to not damage the torque wrench. as a torque wrench is not designed to loosen bolts. its real simple. the longer the handle the more leverage.

an 8mm hex socket will have a hole on the back to fit a rachet which are sized in 3/8" or 1/2" . there are also 1/4" and 3/4" which do not apply to your application.

Almost full 750ml bottle of Canadian Club whiskey to first person to respond that wants to come put them on for me please thanks. Near Pearland.
Canadian Club? You would have to entice me with a better whiskey than that.

I have the tools, but I'm up here in New Caney off 59N. Hope Tony will be able to help you out. Which ones did you get? I have the Motivations on mine. Thinking about selling them and getting LSL's again like I had on my 07.

They're the LSL's. I had them on my 07 and when I purchased the 09 the Motivations were free with the bike, so of course I had to say yes to those. I want another set of the LSL's. They really look good. I'm thinking of going with black this time. That blue don't match so well with the darker blue of my 09. Speigler.com is the website for them.

The Chivas sounds better. Come on. Someone help this poor damsel out. I have to go out of town and can't do it. Surely someone on that side of town can step up.

I have the torque wrench and sockets. You'd just need to pickup the right size hex key or even a hex socket would work. No whiskey needed. If you can get the hex key or socket (shouldn't cost more than a few bucks) shoot me a pm. It'll be a whole lot cheaper then buying even a cheap torque wrench. Now I just gotta to find where I packed the torque wrench.

Hey tony, from what I see on other forums it's a 8mm hex torqued to 40 lbs/sq in.
