Good story and pics. That was a good day to be out there. According to my watch the two big time guys, one former world champion and one newly minted AMA superbike champion, were both consistently running 1:46 to 1:47 while just having fun. Having that kind of group out there is something that is not likely to be repeated again any time soon. I'm happy to have seen in person.

Great Thread. I made it out that day and watched the races. Spies was so smooth and fast coming down through turn one.

It's funny.... I remember Haner leaning over and talking to his GF when everyone else took off. He put his helmet on and took off late. They came out of the chicane onto the straight and he was already in like 5th...They were on a quite basic GSXR.

I remember they had a superb lead for a while (like the entire length of the front straight). Any more pics?
