Steve,
Why would you want to pay off your house? Then you have no interest to deduct. Also, if you get another house, there are a lot more tax saving opportunities there too.
BTW, I still pull 25% out before taxes and have a company match up to 10% plus I am fully vested.

Mainly because the amount of our house note would be more profitable for us in a Roth IRA or Traditional IRA than the tax breaks would be... the power of compounding interest is amazing. Besides, we'll be paying somwhere along the lines of $30k less if we pay it off 19 years early (already had the house for about 1 year). In all likelihood we won't have the house completely paid off in 10 years, but that's a goal. It will probably be more like 15 years.

Unfortunately Reliant only matches 6%... but I've been looking around for a new job. I'm getting a bit bored there and can't seem to find what I want internally.
