craigsilst ads...

There have been cl ads that look very enticing but something seems off.

2009 650 Gladius - $2400
2006 Honda CBR 600 F4i - $2250

And they have very low miles (some less than 7k). What's getting to me is that they used web "templates" and only have e-mail addy's for contact info. Sample below.

http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/1546035605.html

pictures look legit but yeah its seems weird.

the easy way to deal with it is to just call them and ask specific questions that would resolving any doubts you had about the ad.

True. I have had good deals with people only with e-mails. These are just TG2BT deals. I mean less than 5k miles for less than 1/2 the orig price?

Commonsense should be a requirement for browsing through craigslist

Ya these are scams. I emailed one of these ads and here's what they said.

Hello,
My bike (2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) it's in perfect condition, it has only 1987 miles, it's almost brand new, never dropped, no scratches, no dents or hidden defects...it's just the way it looks it is. The price is $2900 if you buy it now. It has also a clear title. The bike will come with a jacket and a helmet.

First of all I want to tell you that I am in Anchorage, AK. I am selling the bike for such a low price because my squadron has been sent back to Afghanistan for the next year and I don't want it to get old in my garage. I have to sell the bike before 30 january.
I will handle with the shipping everywhere in USA and I will cover the shipping fees too. The bike will be shipped in a crate container directlly to your home address in maximum 3-5 days.
I am a member of eBay Vehicle Purchase Program and we will use this program in our transaction.
I will wait your email if you are interested in purchasing it...

Thank you,
Steven

I never put my number on there anymore.

I forgive you.. Seriously though, 99.99 percent of the time when people ask if this ad or that ad is a scam, it usually is. That means 99.99 percent of these threads can be avoided if people use their commonsense.

Is there a difference between 100 and 99.99? Sometimes it counts. If I had not posted this thread I would have had to e-mailed the person and had the same results as the people already mentioned. Learning from other people's mistakes are better than committing them yourself.

I ask about the smallest or dumbest things because I know more people have experience than I do. If you see a thread created by me, expect the same.

Wow. 99.99%?

So you have actually witnessed 10,000 "is this a scam" threads... of which 9,999 have been scams.

Glad someone had that statistic! I have always wondered.
