Exclamation Take your Info off the Member Map!!!!

Sorry guys, I like the map thing its cool and all but I just did a little research. Out of the last 25 bikes or so stolen from their Houses like 90% of them are on the Member Map. You can find the Lat/Lon Coordinated, on Satellite View, it shows your house and driveway and neighbors very plain as day. Just a warning, these thiefs can be looking at bikes, decide they like them, look up your info on the Map and BAMMM, shows them what your F***** house lookis like

They dont have to put Exact address but can give the thief a pretty good idea between 3 or 4 houses. They drive by a few times, see who has a bike out or judge by the people if they ride bikes (For example, 3 Houses, 1 is a Old couple-NO, 1 is a Middle Eastern family with babies-No, 1 is a young couple with A-Star stickers on their back window of car- DING DING DING)

Not bashin, just tryin to educate some innocent people who might not kno

I would love someone to cruise past where I put my marker.
Unfortunately, if someone wants my POS they could find me pretty darn easily.

P.S. thieves, it is a POS. Just ask Patrick.

With a bit of sleuthing I could find quite a few bikes on here. But I agree don't make it easy for the fools.

if someone wants it they will take it. yeah not the smartest thing to put your real address but all it takes in most cases is your license plate from a photo or a meet and greet. anyhow if you evade the thieves online you could get followed home etc etc

All they need to do is go to a meet and greet and write down license plate numbers.

And that's what they do.

No one is safe if you infact ride your bike.

There were people I knew in our Motorcycles Unlimited group last weekend and someone asked another "did you get lojack on your bike" he answered the usual and infront for everyone to hear(including the employees) I said, never answer that question... Be smart.

if people are going to goto the extreme of not putting stickers on cars etc i might as well remove the pockets from my clothes so thieves dont think i have a wallet on me.

i understand that you are looking out for people, but u have to understand if a thief REALLY wants something odds are pretty high they will try and find a way to get it. so i doubt things like bike stickers and membermap are more effective than just riding around and seeing a bike they like and following it home

Ya it takes some dumb to put an exact on that map. But really. All it takes is a few bucks and some time and anyone can find all your info. Trust me.

Between your profile here and on KawiForums. It only took a few mins to find your home address. Assuming there is not another person with your same first name, last name, and date of birth, in the location you list in your profile. I won't post it, but if you don't believe me I can PM it to you.
