Eh... and then you got a doggy door that will allow the ****ers to get from the garage into your house. Don't do that.

A dog can be silenced fast.

You may or not wake up.

You also may or may not wake up wit a barrel to your face.

Another idea is to have the garage wired into an alarm system that calls to police, and securing the bike inside too. A garage is just not that secure.

.... or just have an old boring bike like mine!

Thieves suck - seriously. Sorry you have to deal with the violation of your property.

I am sorry for your loss. I agree with the comments that the thieves are frequenting these boards (like perusing the newspaper for specials at your local grocery store).

I hope insurance pays out quickly so you can move on from this terrible experience.

You can run big eye bolts down into the concrete where the new bike will live and chain it up at night. I installed 2 for my bike and the only thing thats getting those bolts out is a natural disaster.

There's a video and thread on here a couple years back where these people were demonstrating how to break any chain/lock. Even the kryptonite chain was cut within 45 seconds.

Have you tried asking your neighbors to see if they saw anyone outside your home?

Sure did. That was the first thing I did as soon as I got home during the 3 hours I waited for the police to show up.
