Another "gear thread" summer pants episone....

I'm going to prepare for summer and need pants, I have always rode with jeans but we all know jeans don't offer a whole lot of protection.

I'm sure the best pants iin terms of protection are leather, but how hot do they get in the supper days? Going 70 miles may not be a problem, but commuting, getting trapped in traffic??

I'm looking for something that offers decent protection and plenty of air flow.

While riding the outside temp w a full leather suit is only about 5 degrees hotter then the outside temp on the gauge cluster. I purposely brought my temp gauges from work to check this last year.

That said, you'll get cold just the same without insulating layers

There are several kevlar reinforced jeans from 40 up.
