Performace Bikes Magazine Test

Searching for the worlds fastest production bike...

Which bike would achieve the highest "top speed" (straight line only of course lol).

The results are:

1. Kawasaki ZX-14 187.04 MPH
2. MV Agusta 185.56 MPH
3. Suzuki Hayabusa 184.96 MPH
4. Aprilia RSV4 184.00 MPH
5. Kawasaki ZX-10 183.90 MPH
6. Yamaha R1 183.20 MPH
7. Honda CBR1000 181.51 MPH (and smoking blue oil the entire way)
8. KTM 179.56 MPH
9. Ducati 1198 178.37 MPH
10. The 2009 Suzuki Kay-Nine blew its engine, thus there are no results for it.

0-100MPH times:

1. Kawasaki ZX-10 5.94s
2. KTM 6.14
3. Ducati 1198 6.16
4. Yamaha R1 6.31
5. Kawasaki ZX-14 6.46
6. MV Agusta 6.52
7. Suzuki Hayabusa 6.60
8. Honda CBR1000 6.64
9. Aprilia RSV4 6.74
10. Suzuki blown motor.

Interesting. All I get from it is that all of them are fast!

Doesn't surprise me that a Kawasaki would be leading the pack! Go Green

Where are the Gixxer 1000's?

I feel certain that would have made the top 10, but I gues they wouldn't want to embarass some of the other "more costly" bikes.

Was that the reference to the Suzuki K9? I can say from experience that I have had plenty opened on the top-end and no issues with blown motors.

I think someone tried to rig the results. Where is Jessie Ventura????

Top speed to me is a wholy uninteresting number. You're fvcking retarded if you try to find that speed on the street, and even the front straight at TWS (Texas World Speedway) (which is pretty long) generally isn't enough to find it.

It's uninteresting to you, but not to me. Who said anything about going that fast on the street?

Wow...just wow...

That's it? Under ten mph difference from king of bikes 15 years ago?

Have to agree about the other comment about top speeds, and being on the streets
Fastest isn't as beautiful compared to QUICKEST. If one could stay at a constant speed, eventually you would get bored. Be it ten miles an hour or 3000. But how fast you get there...that's a different feeling .

I want the equivelent of an ejector seat.

Thats why 0-100 is also posted and there are other tracks with longer straights than TWS (Texas World Speedway).

Which is a useful figure, and why I didn't comment on it.

This is just out of the crate production bikes. There are much faster bikes on this board.

so, would it be safe to assume that the Suzuki is the only one limited to 186?
